Editor’s Note: Touching some cool grass for the weekend. . .

We’re taking some of our own advice—”Get offline. Touch some grass. Reconnect with the real world.”—this weekend at East Cobb News.

Quite often we have full days of news coverage on Friday and Saturday to include in our Sunday newsletter.

But for the first time probably since before COVID, we’re going to try and take most of the weekend off.

As in an actual three-day weekend, if we can swing it, and depending on what happens news-wise along the way.

The news business is 24/7, and the business of bringing you East Cobb News every day, plus our loaded weekend newsletter, is something we take pride in.

But at the end of a very eventful July, and with a new school year starting next week and important elections looming in the fall, we’re going to take a bit of a breather before digging in to all that.

This weekend seems like the best time to do that, again, depending on what’s happening. Or not.

If you’re a newsletter subscriber, don’t worry—you’ll be getting that as usual on Sunday.

And come Monday, we’ll be back with our usual coverage of all things East Cobb, including that new school year.

We appreciate our East Cobb News readers so much—we do this all for you!—but it’s time to take a bit of a deep breath and get ready for the rest of 2026.

Thanks for your readership, and we’ll be back in touch with you as August begins!
