A 20-year old man has been arrested with aggravated assault and battery against his mother and grandmother and with threatening to kill them both last Friday.
An arrest warrant for Jordan Lieber, of a Highland Plains Court address in Northeast Cobb, said he was charged by Cobb Police with two counts of felony aggravated assault, a felony count of exploiting a disabled or elderly person and two misdemeanor counts of simple battery.
The warrant states that at the Highland Plains Court address, between 11:59 a.m. and 1:42 p.m. on Friday, Lieber pointed a Tauras 3X pistol at his grandmother and threatened to kill her, and threw her down and held her to the ground.
According to the warrant, which said that all three individuals lived at that residence, Lieber pointed the gun at his mother’s head when she tried to intervene and threatened to kill her as well.
The grandmother was thrown to the ground twice, had an arm twisted behind her neck and suffered a minor elbow injury, according to the warrant.
When police arrived at the scene, according to the warrant, Lieber intentionally spit on an officer as he was being loaded into a patrol vehicle.
The warrant said that after he was in custody, Lieber indicated that “he felt like the only way to get out of his current situation was to” kill his grandmother or himself.
According to his booking report, Lieber is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
