Cobb Animal Services to hold ‘Betty White Challenge’ Jan. 17

Next Monday, Jan. 17, would have been the 100th birthday for actress Betty White, who died on New Year’s Eve.Cobb Animal Services Betty White Challenge

She was an ardent animal lover, and the Cobb Animal Services Department is holding a fundraiser on her birthday in her honor.

It’s called the Betty White Challenge, and those wishing to participate are asked to donate $5 in her name and/or sign up to volunteer at a local animal shelter.

“This gesture will make a world of difference to the shelter pets and the fellow employees and volunteers at the shelter,” said a Cobb Animal Services social media posting this week.

  1. What a joke Cobb Animal services is putting animals to death rather than allow people to adopt them. You can no longer even see the animals without an appointment and there are so few appointments I was told I would have to wait over a week and much longer if I was not available during the week due to my job. I would have loved to save a dog. Instead I got a puppy from a mill. I will not donate until they can find a way to allow people to see the dogs without the need to interact with the staff. Why not allow people to view them outdoors near the kennels so there is little risk of covid transmission. so They could at least see if they were interested in any of the pets before making an appointment to adopt. Why waste your time with looky loos so people who are ready to adopt have to go elsewhere.
