Information from the Marietta Police Department about military training exercises at Dobbins starting Sunday and for the next week:
The U.S. Army requested we share with you information about planned military exercises that will take place in Cobb County.
LOW FLYING fixed wing and helicopters are part of these training exercises.
Here is their official statement:
“Elements of the Department of Defense are conducting training in Blairsville, Atlanta, and Marietta, Georgia from 27 September – 04 October, 2020. Aviation assets will be involved in this training, so citizens may experience a higher than normal level of noise associated with military aircraft. This training is fully coordinated with local government officials, and every effort will be made to fly friendly and limit inconvenience to the local communities. Extensive safety precautions are in place to protect the service members and local citizens and to limit inconvenience to the communities. Due to inherent risks to personal safety, there will be no opportunities for public viewing of this training.”

Why is this the only news source I can find on this? Here I am in Roswell having 11pm and 2am fly overs close enough to set my home alarm system off and this is the only article I can find that even acknowledges the exercises. The US Army out of where? Dobbin Air Force Base? Is there any contact information to communicate with the organization running this exercise at ridiculous hours?

Thank God they’re not having to fight or rescue in a real scenario! I think getting real life situational training should only be done during normal business hours. Oh, and not on weekends! I wanna hear the game!

WHY don’t they say if there will be any TFR’s (temporary flight restrictions) associated with this? as usual they tell you everything except what you need to know.
Probably a cover for visiting ufo’s, saw 6 last Sept. 2019, flew right over Kennesaw mt. and subsequently Dobbins AF base.. No news what so ever of reports.., perfect weather.
