A three-decade law enforcement veteran, Chief Ferrell began his career with the department in 1996 as a patrol officer and steadily rose through the ranks. He previously served in roles that included patrol, SWAT operations, investigations, and executive leadership before being named chief in October 2025.
Chief Ferrell credits the department with shaping both his life and his leadership style, and he believes that strong connections with the community are key to keeping Cobb County safe. Come learn about his priorities for the department, including community outreach, officer wellness, and the thoughtful use of technology.
