Caregiving for Your Parents from a Distance
June 19 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM EDT
FreeIn today’s mobile society, many adult children find themselves living far from aging parents who may need increasing support and care. To help families manage these unique caregiving challenges, ACAP Cobb & Cherokee invites the community to a free educational program, Caregiving for Your Parents from a Distance, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET at Covenant Presbyterian Church – Kapperman-Williams Hall, 2881 Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
Advancements in healthcare have enabled older adults to live longer, often more independently. However, when caregiving needs arise, geographic distance can complicate efforts to stay connected, ensure safety, and manage resources. This informative session will offer practical strategies to help long-distance caregivers:
- Keep loved ones engaged and safe
- Identify and coordinate resources in a parent’s home community
- Manage their parents’ evolving needs and support systems from afar
The evening will feature a panel of ACAP Cobb & Cherokee chapter leaders, moderated by Elizabeth Miller, Founder of Happy Healthy Caregiver, LLC, a Certified Caregiving Consultant, and Certified Senior Advisor. Panelists will share real-life experiences, tips, and tools to help caregivers balance responsibilities and maintain strong connections across the miles.
ACAP Cobb & Cherokee, a chapter of ACAPcommunity.org, offers free, monthly educational programs designed to support adult children caring for aging parents. Each session provides expert insights, community resources, and practical advice in a welcoming, supportive environment.
This event is free and open to the public.
