We need absentee ballots sent after 1 request until stopped and we need more and more convenient drop off locations for people who work late.
During COVID, it was great to drop off my ballot outside the library at 10pm.
Our govt should be making it easier for people to legally vote, not harder. As more and more attempts to make voting more difficult happen, we need to vote the people doing that out of office.
Simple solution: Make all elections a public holiday. All businesses are closed. The only exceptions allowed for mail-in voting are emergency services (police, fire, emergency rooms), deployed military, and those that are bed-ridden (and confirmed by a doctor). All votes are counted immediately, and we know who won the same day!
This worked well for most of history, even before we all had cars, abundant paved roads, and all the other transportation improvements. It will work just as well today.
We do not need more drop off locations for absentee ballots. Early voting is 7am to 7pm Monday-Saturday. Not to mention a Sunday. That is plenty of time for a person, no matter their work schedule, to go inside the voting place and hand in the ballot. They can do it before or after work and on weekends. Also Georgia law requires that your employer give you time off work to vote. People are too lazy to look up early voting schedule or simply call Cobb County elections to ask. We have to have secure drop boxes to keep the elections secure.
It is very easy to vote. Early voting goes on way to long and people wait till the last minute, so that is the voters problem not Cobb County election office. you are
