Publisher/Editor

Wendy Parker is a journalist and longtime East Cobb resident with a wealth of experience reporting on her community.

Wendy Parker, East Cobb NewsBefore starting East Cobb News, she was the founding editor of East Cobb Patch, covering local government, education, public safety, small business, development, community events, sports and the arts. She led Patch‘s regional coverage of Cobb schools and government, including the Atlanta Braves’ move to Cobb County.

A former reporter at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she has been an online journalist for a decade and a half, serving as a producer and special projects editor at ajc.com. She also has been a writer and editor at WABE.org, the website for Public Broadcasting Atlanta’s NPR affiliate radio station, and served as social media manager for the EAST COBBER magazine.

Wendy attended public schools in East Cobb, graduating from Wheeler High School. After earning a bachelor’s degree in history and journalism from Troy University, she was a reporter for The Marietta Daily Journal and for the AJC’s Cobb bureau. At the AJC she also covered college and women’s sports, the Olympics and soccer.

For her coverage of women’s college basketball for the AJC, Basketball Times and other publications, she was inducted into the U.S. Basketball Writers Hall of Fame in 2020.
